I decided to dedicate an STI slide to the Rowland conversion. I am also going to use a Sprinco recoil assembly when it ships. They have one for 460, 45 +p+, ect. The Springfield slide will be dedicated to the .45 APC. I had to readjust the sights between the cartridges and maybe I am lazy but I like to set and forget. I am now in the process of fitting the STI slide to the Springfield frame. The 45 slide shoots too well to use any lapping compound with the STI, so I am going very slowly and checking fit a bunch. I milled some bar stock as close as possible to the frame rail dimensions and am working with that. Then I go to work on the barrel fit!

Cabela's has Longshot on sale for 19.99 per pound, so I am going to give this powder a try since that's what most published loads use.

With a 185gr Golden Sabre over 13.0gr of Longshot I get these chrono numbers out of a compensated Gov't model: 1510, 1484, 1473, 1506, 1499 fps

Its a small sample size, but that gives me an average of 1494.4fps with a power factor of 276

Power Pistol is what I have seen used for 45 Super and 460 Rowland loads online.

I use Power Pistol for +P loads. I have a few loads to 1000fps at 230gr. Those hurt my hand a bit.

yes, I tried power pistol and seems to work fine and it gives a nice big fireball out the muzzle :-)
