Sure are a lot of Spidermen here... ;-)

I have not received an email like this...Lemme check the inbox again...

Mike, if you still have the info, you can send it to me as well...My interest is peaked...

I'm sure Charles will chime in on this one when he gets a chance...

But like "jbirds" said, all they have to do is read forums like this and get all the inventory info they need...

Whoever "they" are...

For those who care, here is the text of the email:
Dear American Rifleman and American Hunter readers,

We need your help in order to provide you with the best possible official magazine. Take a few minutes to answer questions about the products that help you enjoy your lifestyle and the official magazines of NRA.

Please go to: NRA Publications Handgun Preferences Survey

It will take approximately 5 minutes to complete the questionnaire. We appreciate your time, your answers, and your support of the National Rifle Association. All the information you share will be kept anonymous.

Thank you,

NRA Publications

please click here and you will be removed immediately. Thank You.
The survey link is in the part where it says "Please go to" and it connects to:
http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/survey- ... 28ERLMR23V" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
which, incidentally, allowed me to start a survey again, despite the fact that I completed it earlier.

Ok, after following the link I was given, and the link Steve just gave; I think it's somewhat less likely that the NRA is getting personally identifying information from people completing this survey. Since the survey is being run by a 3rd party, they'd have to give referrer information back to the NRA. Most likely, the survey company is just using the referrer info to screen out duplicates.

So I take back about 65% of what I said earlier, but the gist of my comments still stand. I'll edit what I wrote.

Just a piece of additional info, the zoomerang outfit does a lot of the internal surveys at work.

Yes, I also got the email.

Did only 2 people get this survey so far?

I haven't received one, and I don't think I would part with any information for that type of survey. Maybe I'm just paranoid. :headscratch

I took the survey. It did not ask for any personal info, and it seemed to mainly be geared towards market research for selling the ad spaces in NRA's magazines. It asked a lot of questions about brands, prices, preferences, spending habits, etc. It looked like a pretty harmless survey to me.

Keep in mind, nothing you do on the www is anonymous.
