Just ordered 2 cases (2000 rounds) of PMC .223 from Bud's gun shop online for $912. That's 46 cents per round. Thanks for the tip.

BTW---last year I think we all would have thought that was ridiculous, but it seems ok now.

No it doesn't. It seems like gouging by the very industry that we have all tried so hard to support over the years. They are in the drivers seat for now. We will see what happens once the panic stricken run out of room on their credit cards and the supply catches up with the demand.

Last night I was at Academy in McKinney. They had a ton of Monarch .223 and 7.62x39 behind the counter. They also had plenty of bolt-gun fodder out on the wall 'o ammo aisle, and shotshells too. No .22lr though as I would've bought it if they'd had it.

The Monarch .223 was $5.69/20rnd box I think (steel case). I did not pay attention to the price on 7.62x39, however at the opening of that store in McKinney a couple weeks ago they had the x39 lacquer coated (not polymer) for $142.50/500.

I think I see a trend. Last week all retailers have stack and stack of .223 ammo. This week 9mm in which i drove around Academy and bought out all of their Remington 100 bulk pack for 24.99 and winchester 115 gr for 12.49. I just left the higher winchester grain at 16.99. Sorry for hogging it all up. In my opinion, I believe next week will be the 40 S&W.

The Academy at 59s@Beechnut has some UMC mega packs of 9mm and 45 also some wolf .45 brass

The local Big 5 Sporting Goods has UMC .380 in a 50 rd box for $22. I'm not that desperate for .380.

On Saturday (4/11), Academy in Mesquite had a small supply of Monarch Steel 9mm for $10.99 a box. They also had some Monarch .45 @ $17.99 a box, and a fair quantity of Independence brand ammo in .45 for $20.99 per box. I picked up a couple of boxes of the Independence. Research indicates that Independence is owned by the same company that owns Speer.
