I would never have a gun under my pillow just does not seem to be the best choice I did have one stuffed between the mattress and box spring until my 3yo saw it luckily he was smart enough to know not to touch it, he told me he saw it and after that it was unloaded and high in the closet, that was about 17 years ago. Now days I have a 15 yo and 5 month in the house that don't even know I own a handgun or am trying to get a CHL. The guns stays hidden and locked when I am not around I have thought about getting the 15yo into shooting but at this point he has not shown me the maturity to handle a firearm of any sort.
Another message mentioned about not being able to move while you are asleep, true, however during the process of falling asleep the body may twitch this is the brain disconnecting from the body, this may be what caused the trigger pull.
