“The 77-year-old concealed gun permit carrier drew his .38-caliber revolver and shot one of the crooks,” Goetschius said. “The crook immediately fell to the floor, and he dropped his gun and he lost a shoe.”
I know i should not laugh, but "lost a shoe". That last phrase created an image that just made me chuckle a bit. Poor fellow. :cryin

John: Don't feel too sorry for the guy. He is allegedly a career criminal and child-support deadbeat.

Russell: The problem with shutting down these places is that they are operated as private clubs. New members have to be sponsored by current members. Under those conditions, it is difficult for an undercover police officer to gain access and observe illegal gambling.

The robber who was shot was indicted Wednesday on four counts of aggravated robbery. He is being held on $400,000 bond.

That's remarkably quick for an indictment.

I think if found guilty on all charges he could be sentenced to 396 years in prison.

"Attempted robbery proves fatal to one in Poteet."

I couldn't get a "copy" of this link to another thread on the forum,
but the above thread is about another game room that got robbed.

The owner killed one of the robbers with a single .40 caliber head
shot. The owner saved a female employee and himself from
possible death.

Good shooting, mister.
