I spent about an hour searching the web. This was the only plated ammo I could find in stock. There is some lead ammo, not cheap either.

I dislike lead ammo because of the fouling problem.

Academy in Galveston still had nothing today.

I bought two boxes of Federal this morning at the Kemah Walmart. As I recall they were around $14 each. They had about 10 boxes total.

I shot up about 100 rounds at PSC this afternoon. I did pretty well, but boy was it hot. :mad5

That's a good price these days. Unfortunately, if I had to drive to every Wal-Mart in the county looking for ammo, I would lose my mind.

Don't do that Jim. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Like 'em or not, Wal-Mart is holding their pre-Obama price on their ammo - so far and when they have any. That can't be said for some others.

BTW, I really wish I'd bought Wal-Mart stock way back then, don't you?

Academy in Galveston had only .38 Special, .25, and .32 as of 8:01 a.m. today.

Galveston Academy had a couple of dozen boxes of Winchester and Remington .22LR at 1 p.m. today. They also had several popular pistol calibers, but no .380.

The guy in front of me bought all the .38 Special that they had -- 4 boxes.

Along with pistol primers, .380 acp cartridges are the new gold - methinks. :banghead:

Buying .380 a year ago when it was around $12 per 50 rounds would have been a great investment. I could easily have tripled my money by now.

Of course, I had no clue what the future would hold.

As much as I dislike Wal-Mart on some things, this is one of the reasons I will still shop there for many things.

I visited two Wal Mart Supercenters yesterday, so I looked at their ammo situation. Neither the Galveston nor the League City stores had much of anything that most people would want, and no .22 ammo at all. Maybe my timing wasn't good, but ammo was not my reason for shopping. I'll try Academy Galveston this morning, but the few boxes of .22 Jim mentioned are probably long gone. You snooze, you lose has never been truer!
