I prefer the P239 for the grip size. The single stack, more compact grip conceals and carries much easier then the larger double stack grips. And, in my opinion, if 8 rounds of quality .40 cal jhp's don't do the job in a self defense crisis, I should have had a rifle.

Yep, which is why a lot of people still put faith in single stack .45s. Agree about the rifle part. I don't carry and extra magazine because I need to carry lots of ammo. I carry an extra magazine in case I have a magazine malfunction — which can happen with any semi-auto pistol. But a single 30 round AR magazine beats two 7 or 8 round .45 (or two 15 round 9mm, for that matter) magazines every single time.

I bought a SIG 220 in 2000 when we returned home from Croatia. Bought it in Havlock, N.C. Its one of the most accurate .45acps I've ever fired. Always reliable, its a bit large for concealled carry, but the weight isn't bad for a large pistol. Its my favorite of all the SIGS.

You changed the poll. I had to vote "Sig not mentioned here" because you didn't have the P250 listed at the time I voted.

Flying out of DFW the other day. Saw a pilot walk up to TSA checkpoint/metal detectors and show a flip open ID case. TSA guy called over supervisor who scrutinized the ID for about 60 seconds. He then opened a plexi-glass door allowing pilot to walk around the metal detector without being screened. Then when I was retrieving my 50ml toothpaste and tiny shampoo from the x-ray I saw pilot filling out a form w/ TSA on the other side. Pretty clearly a "armed pilot" dude. I fly to DC a lot and seen similar deal for all sorts of people w/ "Fed Creds" and LEO security details. Heck, at DCA there's sometimes a longer line to go in through the exit (that's where all the Fed's, LEO's, and other three letter agencies go through) than there is for the regular screen line.

Pilot's leather brief bag had a bumper sticker that said "GOT SIG?"
