Why push your luck with armed employees. If there was a sign scribbled "no loaded guns allowed" written in finger paint I wouldn't ignore it.

So the implication is that they might shoot you for violating the rules? One would hope they have more sense than that. It's also kinda hard on their customers...

My local gun shop is one of those places where all the employees (mainly a family business) open carries. Once or twice I have wanted to show the store employee something about my firearm and I simply asked if It was OK that I retreived my concealed weapon to show him. Out of politeness that Im not suddenly pulling a weapon from under my shirt. Hasn't been anywhere close to being an issue at all.

As it should be...

I was recently examining guns for CC. I was shown a pistol for "pocket carry". I told the salesman i was going to put the gun in my pocket. I specifically told him I was not trying to steal it. His response was that I wouldn't get far. That he was the only employee that didn't open carry. I said I wouldn't expect to get far, as I had noticed all the sidearms, and didn't want to excite anybody. After examining the "print" in my pocket, I returned the pistol to the counter. We both grinned, and there was no problem. But I sure wouldn't want to try to steal anything from them...

Gun shop i goto everyone is armed.

I went in there armed once and saw everyone behind the counter armed. I dont think i can name a safer place to be than there at that shop.

I don't enter armed there anymore, but everywhere else yes.

I have no problem with carry in a gun shop and have, but I would consider it a good practice not to pull it out at all while in the shop. If I suddenly needed to pull it out, I would ask or go back outside to vehicle to clear it.

At a gun range, I prefer to keep it in the car. I am concentrating completely on shooting one gun accurately on target. I don't want to have to worry about if I am printing or if the wind blew my shirt up. Besides, I have a loaded gun right in front of me. Why would I need a concealed one? Gun ranges aren't on the list of places I don't feel safe anyway.

I have CC'd at every range I've been to. One or two I've unholstered and shot, but not in the same motion. One time I even reloaded, holstered, and re-concealed before leaving the line. Each time my G27 was not the only weapon I had with me. I also had the G22 that I also shot with. For the others I just remained concealed and shot the G22 and no one was the wiser.

At some places I've noticed that they prohibit drawing and shooting on the range.

By the way, when I'm done shooting I'll reload with my PD ammo and reholster too, just make sure your gun's cooled down if you carry IWB!
