You'll like the G26. I love mine. Probably the most reliable handgun I own and magazine compatibilty is nice. Couple of things I would recommend:

1) Get two more G26 magazines and put pinky extensions on them. That way you have 2 mags with and 2 mags without pink extensions. I find that I like carrying without pinky extensions but like shooting with them.

2) Get some high capacity, 33rd mags. They may be illegal one day.

3) Get a grip plug. They're $5 or less and are a nice add on.

4) Forget the crayon. Either use Testors paint or the Scratch & Dent touch-up paint. Much easier to apply. Much easier to clean up. And much more durable (never seen touch-up paint on my vehicles melt in 100 degree weather). See my posts in How To section. I think even White-Out works better than crayon.

Went to the Range
Here is a Video

Put 250 Rounds through it. 200 Monarch, and 50 Winchester Ranger, no FTF, only had one Dud in the Monarchs (Dented the Primer nothing happened)

Heres a Target from the first time I shot it. I think thats two 10 round Magazines. I could be wrong.

I have a 27 and I shoot at the range with the stock mag, no extension, and I am amazed at the accuracy. If you are going to carry and want to be as unobtrusive as possible, practicing with stock mag is necessary. Just my opinion.

yeah thats what I figure.
I'm suprised it was accurate as it was, I was shooting rings around a guy with a Kimber who kept bragging about it. I dont blame the Kimber I blame the shooter. He also had a Browning Hi Power and said he was going to sell it because of how "Inaccurate" it was :mad5

Congratulations! I have the 26 and love the gun. I have over 2000 rounds through is from cheap Monarch to expensive stuff. At least 500 of them were Umax reloads and have yet to have a jam or FTF. It has been the most reliable gun I have.

Don't worry about getting the solvent on the frame. I make sure I clean it well and have never had any discoloration or scaring from the solvent. I would suggest you get the Royal Purple gun oil. It works perfectly. If you are still looking for IWB holster, check out the MTAC. http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=95" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . I have had my CHL since December and lately starting wearing shorts. It conceals nicely even with tucked in dry wicking golf shirts. Nobody has noticed it at 4 o'clock, even my CHL friends. Just the other day one asked me why I was not carrying. He was amazed when he saw me in shorts and the tucked golf shirt and I have both a Glock and Ruger LCP on me.

Have fun!

The G26 is thus far my all-time favorite :clapping: , but she's been getting lonely since I picked up the LCP recently :totap: .

Having bought the G26 and G19, I can say with certaintly that I'm more accurate under 15 yards with the G26 - no extensions practice or carry. There may be an advantaage to having an extra stabilizer on bottom of grip (i.e., pinky) - not sure, just know I'm deadly accurate with the thing!

I definitely CANNOT pocket carry G26 (unlike LCP where I can pocket carry 100% - even in nylon shorts)! I can't see how anyone could comfortably do this w/out being able to counter the weight and thickness somehow...

Anyway, now planning for the G26 to be my cold weather carry and have the LCP be my most frequent, warm weather &/or quick-grab carry.

I do wish I had only purchased the G26 instead of both G26 & G19. My G19 is VERY lonely! Each have their own homes in separate Gun Vaults - but LCP likes to snuggle with the G26 often!

I like the CT laser so much on the LCP that I wish more holsters were available for similar trigger guard installs on the G26 (example, M-Tac)... EDIT: Found out that Crossbread Super Tuck has one available :anamatedbanana ! The CT for G26 AND Crossbread Super Tuck will be near-future purchases! The M-Tac that I have now doesn't appear to have any options for this (yet). In any case, I'd much rather have grip guard install (just like LCP - since no accessory rail) than side-frame install since grip size would stay same and no extra "side" accessory (large pill-like protrusion) sticking out right side... Guide rod option is OUT - will not replace such a major factory component with that after market, unadjustable piece.

Installed grip plugs on both my Glocks on day one - period. I did replace slide lock lever on G19 to make it slightly more comfortable, but that was completely unnecessary for use - factory component was fine. I have shot Glocks w/3.5lb trigger and they were "nice", but for my carry, wanted to stick with factory 5.5lb trigger - especially since I can already put a hole through a quarter with one shot at 7 yards or less! As long as accuracy is there for 5.5lb trigger, don't need to fix it if it ain't broke!

1000+ rounds & going - through G26 and not a single failure!

Word of caution :nono: : Do NOT clean it thoroughly until the factory copper grease/preserve is completely gone - @ 250-350 rounds :fire ! Barrol swap, etc yes - but don't remove that copper stuff by hand from slide! Let weapon do that w/experience.

Congratulations!

I was torn between the 26 and the 30, but since I already had .45s (for the 21) at home, I picked the 30. Both are basically the same size gun and I use the SuperTuck by CrossBreed as the holster and it is wonderful.

You should get the 33 capacity mag, that just looks awesome and I wish the 30 had one!
