I wax my gun to help prevent rust. Turtle wax works good for me.

Not to hijack the thread, but can any of y'all tell me how much sweat is transferred through Supertucks? To clarify, will I need to be cleaning my pistol every day after wearing it? I have a horsehide for my 642 and a cowhide for my XD40SC, just waiting for plastic to arrive to start carrying. Thanks

No sweat gets thru my horsehide supertuck in the humid houston summer and nothing but skin between me and the holster.

As a side note, someone suggested an Under Armor type shirt; I'd like to provide a caveat to that idea. Well, actually two:
1. Those shirts are designed to wick sweat away from your body. If you wear one as an undershirt (particularly the compression type), it is gonna pull the sweat off you and transfer it out...right into your IWB holster.
And B. The compression shirt works best if you don't put a layer over top of them. The extra layer inhibits the evaporation process, and so they frequently make one feel warmer, rather than cooler.
UA does have a line of shirts that is reminiscent of cotton, and that type would probably make a much better concealment under-layer.
YMMV. IANACH (clothes horse)

The button up "camp" style shirts work great. I like the solids but you can look like "Charlie" in two and 1/2 men if you like :) Darker is better IMHO.
JC PEnny has them in the Big and Tall section, they hang down a little further than the Euro style stuff for the kids. They can be found in cotton and synthetic. I like the synthetics since they dry fast. The fishing shirts are great too but the look like fishing shirts. I carry a Glock, sweat like a hooker in chruch and have no problems. Some of the new synthetic golf shirts are great too.
The "wife beater" undershirts are good too for keeping the gun off the skin.

Just received my Crossbreed Supertuck for my Bersa .380. Should be good to go for summer now.

I carry in a Comp-Tac MTAC holster. If you go this route, be sure to get the one with the leather backing (
http://www.comp-tac.com/catalog/product ... ucts_id=95).
I originally got the one that doesn't have the leather back and the metal studs dug into my side, even with a t-shirt. Edit: This is the one I'm talking about (
http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.ph ... cts_id=102)
I always wear a t-shirt no matter what, even under another t-shirt. This is just a habit I got into in my fraternity days and never outgrew, like most of my other fraternity habits.
Other than a good sweat resistant holster and an undershirt, any loose fitting, breathable, comfortable shirt should do. I always go by "The Golden Rule" with my cover clothes. That is - when I'm buying shirts I always ask myself "Is this something I'd wear if I weren't trying to conceal a firearm?" If the answer is no, I don't buy the shirt. I've also taken to buying any shirts that may be tight around the waist, like t-shirts or polo shirts, one size larger than normal.

If I'm at work, since I'm lucky and allowed to carry on the job, I go pocket carry Ruger LCP, but if I'm off and around town, I pack a Taurus 709 Slim in my own homemade IWB leather holster with a white Hanes T under an un-tucked camp shirt, fishing shirt or polo. I still wear khakis in the summer, or sometimes cargo shorts.

When it's that hot, I go with snubby in Uncle Mike in front pocket. Haven't had sweat through to cylinder, but it is titanium anyhow and won't rust.
