I got one about a month ago..shoots great..however would not lock back after last round..called Taurus, they said send it back and they would fix it..it's been about 3 weeks now..i checked on it Last Friday and it was in the repair process..i love this little gun..the accuracy was much better than LCP...the trigger pull much to my liking..overall..even with having to send it back..I feel really good about this little 380.

Yes, it is a sweet shooter, accurate enough to use at 25 yards. I noticed on the returned box a sticker that read "Brazil Returned Repair", which might explain why yours is taking so long. Only thing I don't like about it so far is the light trigger pull, too light IMO for DAO. I like to carry with one up the pipe, and that trigger may be a problem.

I just took my brand new one out to the range and on the 14th round it jammed. When I racked the slide to clear the jam, my magazine dropped out with two little black pieces. Lo and behold, those little black pieces were my magazine release button snapped in half. I bought mine at Bass Pro a few weeks ago and plan on going back to them and have them ship it on their dime. Anyone else have this problem?

If you find that Bass Pro tells you to go directly to Taurus for warranty service, it will be at zero shiping cost to you. Taurus arranges for FedEX to pick up on their nickel and it is shipped back free.

Took it to bass pro yesterday, they took it back with no problems.. Said it should be ready to pick up in about 3-4 weeks.

That's great. All the more reason to shop there. My local gun shop says "Tough luck!" But there is one good psart about returning it yourself. You get a letter saying they got it, and another saying they shipped it.

Thanks for the feedback. Hope all goes well. I like the Taurus, but decided to get a Bersa Thunder Plus for carry. Although much heavier, it has a fixed barrel. Significantly more accurate with less recoil.

I just sent my TCP in, but for a different reason( constant FTE problem). They emailed me the fed ex sticker and it got there the same day! Way to go FedEx! Hopefully Taurus will follow suit and have a quick turnaround on the little gun. I know this is an older thread but I will update for the records when it gets back.
Oh, BTW I completely agree on the trigger. The accuracy ain't too bad either. I got a 3" group with it at 7 yards.

I think that all their repairs have to go back to Brazil. So expect a wait. But mine still shoots good after the fix.

I bought a 380 tcp 738 at a recent gun show. Went to the range and using Federal ammo from walmart and shot. Every other shell jammed in the gun. So, frustrated I decided to take it home and clean it more thoroughly. Since then and 200 rounds later not one problem with it. so, I guess it depends on the gun you get. But, really still don't like shooting it. Bought it for the wife and she deplors it so I guess I have a Taurus 380 TCP 738 in my possession. go figure. :???:

The TCP has a better trigger and better finish than either the LCP or P3AT. Can anyone get the slide release pushed down? It is so streamlined, that it is impossible to use. I can only pull the slide back. I just got one of these about 1 month ago and have yet to shoot it. I will report on here once I do.

I received mine back today. I took it to the range and had fewer problems than before, but it still has the FTE problem occasionally. It looks as though they replaced the barrel and extractor, so maybe I just need to break it in again. It is getting really expensive testing and retesting this gun! Weird thing is that the barrel looks slightly worse than the old one; it looks as though the machining on it was fairly rushed.
