Taking wellbutirin or effexor doesn't mean your a pyscho.
After I had my heart attack I was prescribed welbutirin to help me kick my smoking habit.

I was not / have never been diagnosed with any depression but have had the drug to help kick the nicotine.

I know it would be a real stretch if there ever was a push to have as a disqualifier for the initial licence, renewal or even a revocation of your current license, if the state decided to have the mear prescribing of certain medications to be a show stopper for its citizens...

This is just my sick mind working I suppose...

"Shut up Steve!"

Sorry... ;-)

Wouldn't these drugs be concidered "mind altering"?
No. They are mind correcting.

Most folks these days require antidepressants. Mine are my wife, my grandson, and my safe full of toys.

I understand exactly. I would have already been locked up.

That's the way I feel about the smell of burning gunpowder - it kind of calms me down, particularly WW231.
S&B powder has the same effect on me. Silver Bear and Wolf powder have the opposite effect. Stinky! :eek6

Hi,glad that you posted,I had an episode of major deppression a couple of years ago and spent a total of about 5 weeks in the hospital then 30 hours a week in an outpatient setting for about 6 weeks then months of weekly sessions with a therapist/phsyciatrist all the while on a variety of ant-deppressants and various other meds.
I applied for my chl about a year after all this.I believed that these were sealed records but Big-Brother knows all. I recieved a letter stating that I had to give Texas a release from my pshyciatrist.
All in all it took every bit of 6 months or more to get my license.Answer all the questions as accurratly as possible if you are not sure call the chl office.
If you havnt been in the hosopital you shouldn't have any problems getting your license,if you have it might take a little work.
Good luck.

If this is the case, my future as a CHL holder is short. I am about to drive 14hrs one way with wife, catahoula, and a blue heeler.
