Charles,
Thanks for the dedicated service you have done for our organization. I really appreciate your taking the year absence from your law firm and serving as executive director.
But, I am happy to point out one minor mistake in your subject line. You are not leaving TSRA, just the full time position of executive director. From your letter, you will still work and help with issues on a part time volunteer basis. This is a good thing and the TSRA still needs you in this manner (as well as others, but we take what we can get).

I will echo the sentiments of all so far, and include that you have left us a legacy, and some mighty big shoes to fill.

Many thanks, Charles. FWIW, your contributions here led me to join TSRA.
One question - does this mean the end of your deadly force seminars?

Absolutely, as long as the NRA members will have me. I'm still going to be doing the same political and legislative work I've been doing for 25 years; I just won't be running the many other TSRA programs and activities.

Thanks for the very kind works folks and thanks for your support of the Second Amendment. We discuss many issues, agree on most but not all, and we "argue" (politely) our positions with gusto, but at the end of the day, we all care enough about gun rights and gun owners to stay involved. Without that support and dedication, all the money in the world would not preserve the freedoms we hold so dear.

I looked through the TSRA Sportsman this morning, and stopped cold at page 9.
I'd never understood how you were able to juggle your TSRA Executive Director role with your law practice, NRA Board of Directors responsibilities, and all your other obligations. But, naievely I suppose, I assumed your role would be longer than a one-year term.
Luckily, I at least had the opportunity to assist you at the last TSRA Annual Meeting. Even though that was a short boots-on-the-ground experience, I can safely say it isn't only the TSRA membership who will miss your management, but the TSRA staff, as well.
I never hesitate echoing the chorus, long and loud: Thank you for all you do, for your leadership, for your vision, for your incredible work ethic. Thank you for your personal mission to help us preserve and exercise our Constitutional rights.

Chas,
Thank you for your service. Although I'm new to the forums, I can easily see the contributions you have made.
Now on to that RV-7A!

Charles, I cannot even begin to express how proud I am of the work you have done for TSRA and for CHL holders in Texas. I feel a great priviledge to have been a tiny part of it.
I know you will continue to do wonderful things for our cause, and I thank you for ALL you do!
