To keep this on topic - I do sometimes carry my Glock 17 in a Crossbreed Superuck and it's comfy but I find that the butt/handle of the gun does poke out a little too much, especially when compared to my Kimber. I tried a buddy's Glock 19 and it conceals better, in my opinion.

I actually had less problems concealing when I was on the larger side than I do now. I'm 5'7" and was at almost 220 and had no problems concealing my G19. I'm at 165 now and noticed a heck of a lot more printing.

I've since bought a Comp-Tac Minotaur and the problem has been solved. The adjust-ability on that holster is great and now I can pretty much wear anything I want and the bulge of the gun is hardly noticeable. So if you insist on an XD, which is pretty much as wide as my Glock, I'd suggest the Minotaur or the Crossbreed holster. And don't forget a dedicated gun belt. That's probably even more important.

If you haven't purchased a weapon, though, I'd highly recommend going with a 1911. They're soooo thin and easy to conceal. I love shooting them, and I've decided to eventually move over to a 4" 1911. I love my Glock, but the 1911 is just a sexy piece of hardware.

With a 7 ounce burger you probably need a bigger drink, like 38 or 45 ounces.

You might still like a more compact gun. My G27 carries a bit easier than my G23. Barrel length being the main culprit, can poke you right in the hip while driving even with a quality holster like Crossbreed.

And definitely get a qualitly gun belt, without a doubt.

The guys at the gun shop and additional research have made me reconsider. I'm now leaning towards a Kahr P haven't settled on the 9 or the 40 yet. It is pretty thin but I really like the way it feels in my hand. It really seemed to fit. I'll keep everyone posted.

I carry a Kahr P9 and am very happy with it. My decision between the P9 and P40 was the cost of ammo. The 40 ammo is considerably more.

I spent a lot of time looking for something to make it more comfortable to conceal carry. Thanks to this forum I found what worked best for me was a MTAC holster and a 1 1/2" Wilderness Tactical belt. I think getting the belt sloved more of my problems then the holster. I had been using leather belts with holes and found that through out the day, my waist size changed and the belt would be either too snug or too lose. Not a problem with the tactical belt.

I am 3 inches shorter and weigh XX more pounds than you. At one point within the past 4 years, I weighed XXX more pounds than you. When I carry IWB, I use a MTAC from Minotaur. I have 3 holster bodies for it to fit a 3" 1911, a 5" 1911, and a full sized M&P 45. They all carry exceedingly well in that holster, and conceal just fine.

That said, as my back degenerates more and more, I find myself going to OWB or pocket carry more and more. As "prosperous" as I am, I am still able to conceal all three of those pistols quite easily with outside the waistband holsters. And although the MTAC is exceedingly comfortable for an IWB holster, carrying OWB is more comfortable still. But as much as I am in love with my 1911s, this heat spell has me carrying almost exclusively my little scandium framed pocket revolver in .357 lately.

Me too (well, the Bodyguard .38)...it's just soooooo easy!

I'm 5'9" and around 220+/- 5lbs. I found that an MTAC Minotaur is perfect for IWB a full sized XD at around 3:15 -3:30 on the hip, or will go with pocket carry of a J-Frame 642 in a Mika or Nemesis holster.

Looking at the risk of death by criminal attack and the risk death by obesity related disease, the answer seems obvious.
