No gun is idiot proof. Not a Glock, and not your pretty little 1911's with all your fancy sissy switches. (You might call them "safeties".) The only safety you can actually rely on is the one between your ears.

Keep your finger off the trigger when it doesn't belong there, and stop blaming the equipment when it is an operator failure!
I resemblle that remark & happen to like them sissy switches. :fire :rolll

*Glock carrier* here haven't shot myself yet, but then again I have only been carrying for less than a year. I will be sure to let you know if I ever get the infamous Glock-leg for your statistical records.
Been carrying a Glock since before Texas had a CHL under the 12/6 rules. Never have I had a Glock go off that I didn't pull the trigger first. actually... now that I think about it... I have never had any gun go off that I didn't pull the trigger first. Weird, isn't it?

Quoting a very credible source, I believe that they are officially known as "sissy switches."

Just Kidding... Us "Glockers" realize the lack of experience many of you suffer from can scare some of you around real guns. :biggrinjester:

Yeah, he REALLY wouldn’t like what my Daughter picked to carry…with all its “Sissy Switches” and features.

LDA (Light Double Action) trigger.

Spurless hammer, sits flush with the rear of the slide to prevent snagging if drawn from under clothes or from a purse. Allows you to carry cocked and locked BUT hammer down.

Extended thumb safety, provides extra measure of safety (though the weapon is D/A). If desired…you can carry with the thumb safety off.

Grip safety, again…an extra level of safety, will not let weapon fire unless depressed. Additionally, does not allow slide to retract unless depressed. Grip safety “bobbed” to prevent snagging.

Loaded chamber indicator.

Firing pin safety.

what about M&P Leg, or perhaps Sigma Side, maybe even an XD Appendage...

ftr, I carry either my Kimber Pro CDP, Taurus Slim, or Glock 17 (depends on what I'm wearing) so I'm not biased...

I don't mind all the joking. I chose Glock because it goes bang when the trigger is pulled and it is simple. I don't have to worry about whether or not the safety is on or off or whether it is cocked or decocked or whatever. If I don't want it to go bang I keep my finger off the trigger. It's that simple.
