The advantage of my XD is that the beaver tail safety prevents the trigger from acting when my hand-webbing isn't pressing down on it, so I always holster with my thumb above the firing pin indicator. I didn't realize M&Ps had no safeties. A guy I know carries one and I just assumed it'd have a beavertail on it
