I'm definitely pro-LASIK. Had mine done in '99. I was 20/200 before. Corrected to... I think it was 20/15. Loved it. Still thrilled, but the ol' aging eyes thing has me stashing reading glasses all over the house. I think I'm never more than 6-10 feet from a pair. 
For all that, if I hadn't had it done, I'd still need readers, as well as needing glasses for distance. I'm happy to not have to deal with bifocals, which really was the motivator for me.
