It's not like a drivers license. You can't turn in your WA CHL at a DPS office and get a Texas CHL.
If you want a Texas CHL, you have to go through the whole process.
Class. Written test. Shooting test. Fingerprints. Background check. Waiting.
If you want to renew your WA CHL, that depends on their rules and Texas has no say in the matter.
It's your choice. Unless Loon Burnam and some members of this forum get their way.

Welcome to Texas! Hope you like it.
I recommend going ahead and getting your CHL as soon as possible. It takes time but as everything else its important to have your local documentation in order to avoid the hassle.

Got to Texas 20 years ago and have learned to love it. I have to since my Texan wife's family is all within a 30 mile radius, and we have three Texan babies! I am proud to be a Texan and proud of the attitude and beliefs that come with being a Texan.
I am still a Bronco's fan, though, and my wife gave up on the Cowboys last year and now roots with me!
