My 11-year-old daughter with her Defensive Rifle instructor, Jon Payne, of Suarez International in Orange in January.

Rifle is a Ruger 10-22 in a Tapco "NRA Special Edition" stock with a Tasco RDS.

I'm mighty proud of her.

A few years ago we started printing holiday cards on Shutterfly. It's since been my tradition (since I do the layout) to pick a photo of particular interest to me and add a quote, typically from a Founding Father, for the back panel of the card. The first year I just did it without getting approval from WifeGBiv (better to ask for forgiveness sometimes ;-) ) but after taking some heat for my impertinence, the responses from our family, friends and colleagues were so positive I got free reign going forward ("within reason", SWMBO says :???: ).

I was pleasantly surprised at the number of people that called just to comment on the back of the card that first year.
I think they've come to expect it now. :thumbs2:

Here is this years edition of "The Back of My Christmas Card"(™) ...

Thanks.!
I thought the photo and the quote together provided several layered meanings.

An edited version of that quote is inscribed on the Jefferson Memorial, panel 3
The full quote is actually: "The god who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them."
The photo was taken the day after we visited Monticello.

Working on this years card... So far, this is the frontrunner for the B-side.

I thought this one lacked the proper holiday spirit.

Our latest trip to Reds this past Saturday. Oldest getting a hang of his .243 and both he and my middle son on the AR22.
