No sarcasm here... Just curious where bad information was coming from. After all, can't see how a misinformed chl holder getting busted for carrying on campus will help our cause of getting it passed next session. Try not to read too much into Internet text, tone is hard to convey online. Stick around, this forum has a ton of great info on Texas laws. :tiphat:

I think the sarcasm quote was in relation to pbwalker's statement of him not attending class.

It was a valid question...I can't control how it is interpreted.

I don't think anyone was trying to be sarcastic on this thread. You asked the question, 8 or 9 different people attempted to tell you campus carry wasn't allowed, and you're the one that told us we need to Google HB750, which we were trying to tell you didn't pass.

Welcome to the forum. You'll find the folks on here are fairly well informed when it comes to CHL matters, particularly on legislative issues since the forum owner, Charles, is so heavily involved with the TSRA and the Texas Legislature.

I asked where he was getting incorrect, dangerous info.

He called it dangerously necessary sarcasm, so I figured he was talking to me.

Either way, no harm, no foul. It's the internet, though this really makes my case for the necessity of a sarcasm font. I keep suggesting italics. :thumbs2:

I told one person to google it.. That was about four posts deep.. both Before nine people were involved and Before I had actually found out for myself that it wasn't passed. My mixup. I don't doubt that the majority of people in this forum are well informed.. I would hope that to be the case. I was only trying to make sure

I found that info while surfing the web at school. It was on some random chl forum and on a few random news sites. And I agree, that wouldn't help the cause. I'll try and find and post it on the thread. Thanks all for the info.

"No!" may not count, but it did accurately answer the original question.
The original question did not ask "Why?"

You may want to be careful though; as a student they can't prosecute you for carrying on campus (not premise), but they sure can terminate your enrollment if it violates the school policy. Safety from being expelled due to carrying was what the Campus Carry bill would have provided on top of access to the buildings.

Sadly, when you consider the way the news outlets in our state reported EVERYWHERE on the Campus Carry verbiage being amended to the other bill, and how virtually none of them reported that the bill failed, I'm worried that:
1) there could be a lot of people who assume it passed, and
2) trying to Google campus carry will now pull up all of the news reports of it almost passing (when it seemed sure to), and researching this topic accurately is now a little harder to do. . . it probably requires drilling a little farther down than a lot of people will do.
