I am a naturalized citizen, wonder if it will affect BG review times.

No, as long as you gave them your Alien Registration number. A friend of mine came from South Vietnam and it took him only 28 days mailbox to mailbox last year.

Nah, I sent them my US Passport scans. From status it seems they have accepted it as proof. Just curious if that would put my background research through extra databases if I was naturalized.

Nah??? If you sent them the scans f your passport, that's great. They only need the Alien Registration number so I just wanted to mention it.

I have no more Alien Registration #. When I got citizenship, I was explicitly instructed never to use it again since it is no longer part of my identity. Once you surrender the green card, that is it, it no longer applies to you.

The Alien Registration number is printed on the Certificate of Naturalization. DPS only needs the AR# but if you sent them a copy of your passport, it's fine. The reasons being not everyone has their passport and it's unlawful to make copies or photographs of the Certificate of Naturalization.

It is strange that they cannot get citizenship status from my DL number. I know they can at DMV office, they can check if you are a registered voter... Curious that you have to prove something this basic and important.

Well, it
is ridiculous, but that is half the idea.

It simply gets you to strap on and go out into public. It reminds you that you need to be in condition yellow at the least, you need to reach with the correct arm, bend at the knees...and just have a little fun. It unofficially initiates you into a brother/sisterhood the same as the forum helps to knit us together as a group. You do it, and then you get to egg on the new CHL holders when they joyously

announce the arrival of their plastic.
It isn't for everyone...some people just want to be more somber in their approach to things, and that is cool also.

Any change yet? Most people are getting their license in the amount of time you are waiting for a simple reciept of materials update.

Nope, still the same. I did accidently buy the instructor application and request to cancel it. so it's because of that. Still I don't think it should take this long.

A screenshot of something to strive for those who just start their wait (this is how it looks like completed):
PS: I have no idea why the "application" is still yellow...
