Don’t wear wranglers, not a cowboy, don’t wear spray on jeans, at 45, not really a young’in BUT, my pants are what I consider properly fitted, free movement but not baggy, and as I don’t have… “low pressure spare tire” Im not getting a Semi auto hand gun to fit inside my waist band of daily wear jeans.
I’ve always followed the “Fit the clothes to the gun, not gun to the clothes” way of thinking.. Others situations and needs very.

For me no change in pants size. Shirt one size larger. (I use a IWB holster).

Over the past 5 years I have lost 60 pounds and I am still trying to lose more. If I would have had a CHL 6 years ago I had the perfect place to carry
a small gun like a Kel-Tec or PM9. The belly button or NC [naval carry]. It would have disappeared!! I would have to get the lint out before firing.

Seriously, a gun has to conform to one's individual body composition. We are all different in many ways but the same in many others. Too many
guys my age, like me, are just too big for our height and to find a place to stick a gun gets more difficult.

In my doctor's office he has a sign, "No guns allowed". Not a legal sign, I know, but for me I abide by it. I get weighed and do not want to add another 2 pounds.

Every 6 months I have to see my doc. and the young female helpers seem to be different at each visit. Over the scale is a height/weight chart. She would
weigh me and then refer to the chart and say "Mr. Ventimiglia, according to this chart you should weigh 175 pounds." I tell her, "You are looking
at it wrong. According to the chart I should be 6' 10", I need something to make me grow." Most of the time they think I am plain nuts.

So, carrying a gun is like the chart it is all how we look at it. We have to do what is best for ourselves.

I have experimented and wasted a lot of money on holsters etc. before finding what is best for me. An IWB low riding holster. JMG makes them for
me. They are inexpensive [$30] and very low riding.

If you're serious about carrying all the time, your entire wardrobe will end up changing. It won't happen over night because that would probably be too expensive but you will gradually change everything about how you dress.

It has been said many times on this forum and I'll repeat it; You need to dress AROUND your pistol. Don't add your pistol to how you dress.

It has to be concealed and you have to be comfortable. If carrying ends up being uncomfortable, you will quit carrying after a few months. I guarantee that will happen no matter who you are. It's like a shoe that doesn't fit. You won't get used to it and the constant digging and pain at the end of the day will get the best of you and those shoes end up in the back of the closet.

Be prepared to experiment. Go to some sort of thrift store for clothing. I recommend the Family Thrift chain if you are in the Houston area. If you have a common size, you can completely replace your entire wardrobe with brand new clothing for less than $100.00.

Of course, I’m not talking about formal business attire, just normal walk around clothing. Your tailor made Nordstrom suit is still gonna have to come from Nordstrom.

It may take a few hours of browsing at Family Thrift but you'll find what you need. I always figured if I can spend 2-3 hours to save $1500.00, that's a pretty good deal.

You'll very quickly figure out what works and what don't.

Absolutely correct!! I guess that has been what I have been doing over the past couple months. I have purchased quite a few Hawaiian style shirts and a couple pair of
cargo shorts. That is the best attire that I have found to carry IWB and it is comfortable. For more formal attire the IWB works fine there too but in this area the most comfortable
most of the time is the shorts and large colorful shirts.

Just carrying with shorts and a tee shirt I find the under belly holster is very comfortable for me to wear or a fanny pack. I like the under belly over the fanny pack because
it looks better and hides just as well and it is more comfortable. I know many do not want to use/try the under belly because of where the gun is located but it is very comfortable.
I have gone all day with the Beretta and I actually forget that it is there.

Sometimes I hope I don't get itchy but so far so good.

I used to buy my shorts one size larger but know I just look for cargo shorts with some elastic in them. With jeans I tend to pocket carry or wear owb.

I generally go with pants one size up only because I prefer to be comfortable and wear polo shirts. I can squeek by using my standard pants but they are a little tight and I prefer to have room to move.
