How is it that they can truly believe that this will help keep knives out of the hands of criminals?

Are politicians really this stupid?
The voters who elected these two are the same voters who kept Teddy Kennedy in office until he went to the big committee meeting in the sky.

Sort of off the subject but not really.

I watched a movie called "Edge of Darkness". It was out in the theaters a few years ago and stars Mel Gibson. Nobody seems to like him anymore and so no one went to see it.

I watched it on Cable and really enjoyed it. It takes place in Boston and Mel is a police officer. A lot of the pivotal points in the movie revolve around the tight control of guns in that state. He finds his murdered daughter "HAS A GUN" I mean it is a big deal. Happens through out the movie, when someone is found "WITH A GUN".

I read up about it after I saw it, and found out that it was a very successful mini series in the 80's in guess where, yeah England. It was remade in the US, and so where could they find a place in the US that made such a big deal about guns. You guessed it Massachusetts

I know you are being humorous, but in the UK, when Gordon Brown was PM and the Labour (Leftist) Party was in power, they were trying to force through legislation to do pretty much what you suggest...making knives more "stab-proof"...look it up, you'll see that I am not joking.

Mass wants to reduce knife crime? Allow citizens to carry guns.

Councilors Michael Ross and Tito Jackson joined FOX 25 Morning News live from our Beacon Hill studio to explain.

I'm kinda scared that the reporter agreed with them so completely. She didn't even try to present the other side of the issue.

I am sure you are not joking. I just find the lunacy of “knife control” hilarious whether in Brittan or Boston.

These people should be medicated and admitted to an institution that will not allow them to have sharp things.

No, they're really this conniving and so consumed in the belief that they know what is best for what they deem as the uneducated and lesser populace. They see themselves as the elite who are anointed and placed in their political posts... A sort of manifest destiny. IMO they truly believe they're smarter and it is their job to not only legislate us into safety from each other but make us beholden to them as subjects and not a citizenry.

They don't want us to have the opportunity to defend ourselves in any shape or form.

History has shown too many times that subjects (sheeple) who cannot or will not defend themselves are primed for complete control.

I think I'm gonna hurl......

More seriously, I watched a couple of his campaign events. I kept thinking "who in their right mind would even consider voting for this overbearing creep, let alone actually going into a voting booth and doing it." I really would listen to one of his constituents about why they think he is such a wonderful representative for them if I got the chance. Afterwards, I'd probably hurl.....

That state thinks pepper spray is a gun. Really, its' illegal to have pepper spray there without a license to carry.

The following quote from a man who lived through the dark days of the Soviet Union are a reminder to me why a government that controls weapons is dangerous to the populace...and why it is afraid of the citizens having them.

"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward."
— Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

It is such a shame that they are like this.

Mass is such a beautiful place and it is just filled with history. I have an uncle that lives in Manchester-By-The-Sea and it is so calm and beautiful there. Just a short drive from Salem, Ipswich, Gloucester, Marblehead which are all absolutely awesome places. I absolutely love it there.

And they have to go and ruin it all with their laws and politics.
