I had problems with my Chip McCormick so I would not suggest them. You can get the details of my problem

I have over a dozen of cheap GI 1911 mags that have never had one issue in 4 different 1911s. Got them from CTD for about 6 7 bucks.

I'm kinda partial to the plain Kimber mags. I've got 3 8-round and 1 7-round. I prefer the skirted follower on the 8-round mags.

I have been using Wilson mags in my Kimber Pro Carry. Excellent all around. Very high quality.

Besides magazines, keep an extra recoil spring on hand they need changing about every 1,000-1,500 rounds. If you have any plans on doing more than field stripping your gun an extra plunger spring and plunger pins are also a good idea.

I have had great success with ACT/Novak Mags and also Powermags by Chip.
The ACT mags I have are well built and have been every bit as dependable as the powermags.
