We had a topic earlier this year about why some folks choose to carry a BUG. The topic ran for six pages with, I think, some good info: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=44097" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Just FWIW.

Depends on where I'm going, always a extra mag sometimes a extra gun.
Getting close to zombie season the extra mag may be loaded for the undead.

Carry a Glock, LCP and SW642. Thinking of adding a LC9 to the mix, but not sure I can carry 4 and anything else in my pockets.

Carry 2 often. As has been said 2 is 1. They will think your nuts until you need either one. I have a storey happened few years back when I was living in anti-gun illinois.

I allways had my gun on my night stand and my wife thought I should leave it in the safe. I explained i needed quik access to wich she just shook her head. Then one night in the summer we were living in a townhouse with our windows open.

All the sudden we heard what sounded like our screen door being opened. My wife freaked out and the first thing she did was wake me up and tell me to get my gun someone is in the house. I checked the house and we fig it was the neighbor slamming his door.

After that I told her if someone was in our place how long it would take to get the gun from the safe . Since then she has never questioned me again. We leave now she actually asks what ya packing honey!

My BUG's my revolver in the seat belt holster in my truck, for quick access when seatbelted and
I might not be able to get my in-pocket or OWB EDC, the Taurus.

At some point I want to get a stainless snubby 1.875" or 2" barrel for an onbody BUG.

My PT-111 is 10 + 1 with at least 1 backup mag on me, sometimes 2 backup mags.
So my EDC carry rig consists of 21-31 rounds on body.

A stainless snubby BUG, laser-equipped, carried onbody, would complete my personal preferences, BUG-wise.

YMMV.

I have gone back and forth with carrying a bug. I like the idea and I have tried to incorporate it into my everyday routine, but it has been a struggle. For me, the main gun is automatic, but the bug seems to be a bother. I have evolved to the point that I don't carry a bug when I am working. I do carry a FiveseveN with 3 spare clips and I carry a rifle in my truck, so if I had any kind of problem, I would be trying to get back to my truck and drive away or get my AR.

When I go out with my wife in the evenings or weekends, I carry a Kimber Crimson Carry on my strong side and a Colt Commander in a cross draw on my weak side. The Colt is for my wife, who has developed into a good shot but has not gotten a CHL yet despite my pleading. I don't intend to be in a shootout by any means, but I want my wife to have access to decent handgun and not be relying on me in an emergency. We can also share magazines between pistols so that is convenient too. If she ever gets her license, I will likely just carry one as long as she brings hers.

I don't carry a BUG on my person. I usually carry one of three of my everyday carry guns. Sometimes it's my Kimber Tactical Pro II, sometimes it's my Glock 23, but most of the time it's just my little Sig P238. I always carry a spare mag on me for what ever gun I am wearing that day. I do keep my Glock 22 in my vehicle at all times with 2 spare mags. I like the fact that the days I am carring my Glock 23 I can use the Glock 22 spare mags if I need to. Just a side note, when I am work or at lunch, or the gas station, I am never more than 20 yards from my vehicle. Those are about the only places I go on a weekly basis, so my BUG(Glock 22) is never that far from me.

My everyday carry is a very small DAO 9mm. My P-11 is a clone of the EDC so sometimes depending on location of travel will use it as bug. On Armed America recently they talked about a IDPA shoot for your bug. I like this idea as I ocassionaly shoot IDPA and have wanted to use my small EDC as this is what should be practiced with, however since accuracy and speed counts I bring the DA/SA big gun. :fire

Remember Zombies can do the flash mob thing and its easier to grab a bug than to reload.

Count me in the "usually do not carry a BUG" category. Though often times my husband is carrying at the same time - does that count?

I have to admit I'm rather hard pressed to find a comfortable and convenient primary carry method (often end up with purse carry, though honestly I don't really like it because there are a number of drawbacks - but at least I HAVE a gun with me). Trying to find a place for a BUG as well... just haven't gotten there.

A BUG is on my to-get list, and I'll be carrying it when I do.

I almost always do. I usually carry a G26/G30 IWB and depending on shorts or pants, a BG380 either in a cargo pocket or on my left ankle. I also ALWAYS carry a spare mag for the Glocks.... none for the BG380.
