I couldn't help but laugh at that when I saw it. Its just funny.
IMHO, life in general shouldn't be taken that seriously, if you do, you won't get out of it alive......
Seriously though, there are times to take life seriously, and there are times to sit back and laugh. I think this is definitely a time to sit back and laugh. To think life is/should be black and white is to fool yourself.....

Most people only get as far as the pictures. Some don't get past the cover. There are fewer readers than buyers. This time, they were smoking too much dope at the editor's desk. Willie will love this cover. He probably has a copy in his bus now, waiting to "roll" again.
I read TM, am I a
brailness twit?
That was an unfortunate typo when asking this type of question. Sorry, it made me chuckle.
Of course... you are not a "twit" brainless or otherwise. It was just one person's strong opinion about a publication. Everybody settle down, and Happy New Year.

I read it as well. No matter what you read, if you take it for gospel, you have other issues...

Just because they read it, and are not brainless twits, does not change the quite accurate characterization of the target audience.
By and large the magazine is a lightweight in journalism, a carmelized, BBQ'd version of The New Yorker Magazine.
With a few notable exceptions. I recall some pretty good journalism when they were reporting on how the AUSA in charge of the Waco/Davidian case became a target himself. Johnston, I believe his name is.

I totally agree...
If it weren't for the fact that Texas Monthly has some great local and state topics they write about, with great restaurant reviews and ads, and some great sports articles...I would reside myself to keeping the back issues in the "reading room" at Casa Steve's...
Their editorials and opinion pieces leave something to be desired most of the time...

That is funny! AND well done - being a Photshop maven myself...
TM & guns

I'd note that TM did a piece last year called "The Gun of John Graves", wherein the writer reminisces about the guns he has owned over his lifetime. Not what I'd suspect of a liberal mag, but then it was a rather lightweight piece.

I know plenty of Liberals with guns, Democrats & Socialists too. When the gun bug hits it crosses all party lines. Shock horror! I even know Gays & Lesbians exercising their second ammendment right!
Next thing you know there will be Gay Evangelists....
