Yeah, I don't know what kind of lotion he uses here, it may be Corn Huskers. He then handed me a damp paper towel to wipe hands off afterwards, so we didn't leave it on. He used the term "for definition" which may have been another way of saying "plumps them up." The computer screen said "97%" and he said "That's as good as it gets." Is that your experience too?

Dear wife has for all practical purposes no ridges (very few, anyway) and failed the scan twice. Here's a synopsis of her ordeal in getting her CHL. Water, Cornhuskers, etc. made zero difference in the quality of her prints.

GOT MY CHL TODAY
Completed class and test: 1/14/12
Fingerprints complete: 2/8/12
Background check complete : 2/10/12
CHL mailed: 2/14/12
Received CHL card: 2/18/12

Overall, very quick service from CHL which I appreciate.

Just this AM, I received a notice from IDENTOGO - on a Sunday Morning of all things - that my second set of fingerprints were unacceptable and that I needed to reschedule again. My second reading was done at a different location, trying to rule out tech error and/or machine issues. "An issue with the quality of your fingerprint capture" are the words on the form letter. Tired of driving miles away, I rescheduled for a third time at the same place I used the first time.

The tech at the second location seemed like he knew what he was talking about. However, he told me that prints are unacceptable only one time - as they are trying to make sure IDENTOGO is not causing the error. Obviously he does not know what he is talking about, not surprisingly.

Reading posts on this forum is disconcerting, having to actually call and talk to state employees,hoping to get a reasonable response. I take the CHL test 9 weeks from now, so hopefully someone can figure out how to help. in that time. I am sure I will not have good prints on the third time if the first and second have the same flaws.

I think that it is oleyl sarcosine, which is a modified fatty acid.
