Looks like I'm a few days ahead of sepiid, nacskins, and EL29jm. Unfortunately, I've been stuck in background check "under review" for two weeks! I have zero criminal history or anything else that should cause a delay. The only things I can think of are (1) I've moved a lot in the last 5 years, and (2) my application may have been sent to the slow line. Oh well...

Tried to call the state and see why no update has been posted. the office is closed today. :-(

Bah, I was wondering if they would be closed today. My status just changed to "Manufacturing" on Friday (2/17), and I guess it'll just have to stay there for at least another day. I wasn't aware that the printer may still be broken, so maybe longer... My BG check took about a week and a half, and I've lived in three states in the past five years. One of those states was Illinois, so maybe they felt sorry for me and put me through quicker.

Ok.. beginning to wonder if my paper work has been lost. Will give it the rest of the week since the office is closed today
Documents sent on February 6th and there is zero update regarding my application.
Sepiid, if I am correct you have zero info on the web site?

Nope. For now on it's gonna seem like a snails pace through the whole process. Get ready for about 33 days. If it wasn't for Presidents Day, I would have had mine by now. Vent, comment and so on.

It took 17 days from the day I mailed the forms off before the DPS site updated my status; emailed DPS on the 15th to see if something got lost in the mail, reply (generic) was processing was taking 3-4 weeks, DPS site updated on the 17th all material recieved and BG check under review. If their at the same speed might be Monday of next week before they update for you.

Correct no update on the site at all, i am starting to wonder the same thing.
i will give them till wednesday to update then ill call them.

just got this reply from an email i sent to DPS
Thank you for giving the Department the opportunity to respond to your email question regarding a Texas Concealed Handgun license.
Once documents are received by the department, they undergo processing before being entered into the system for the applicant to track. Please allow more time for your record to reflect the receipt of documentation. Right now, it takes 3-4 weeks before we can see a status of the paperwork you mailed in to us.

@sepiid, A canned reply from DPS. I guess we just need to sit down and be quiet. Many members on this form posted information (in the signature space) from when they sent the documents to DPS and when the background check started. Many in less than 10 days. I think we may see something this week, optimist.
