Others have stated the law to you and they are correct. I on the other hand am going with the fact that you stated he does not have a gun belt as of yet. He needs to get one. I am of similar size and weight and have had issues when I would try to carry with a different belt other than a good gun belt. It will help hold his weapon closer to the body. He also needs to look at different styles (and sizes) of shirts that will conceal better. I have found dark colored or prints work the best.

We expend so much energy discussing what constitutes "concealed", but let me tell you that the sheeple out there are blind, oblivious, and clueless.

In a different state, I carried full-size service handguns like a 1911 or an M&P using an IWB with my shirt tucked in and the grip completely and fully exposed. In years of doing so, not one person in a thousand even glanced at it.

I never -- never -- worry about concealment. I take reasonable measures to cover with a shirt and that is enough for my comfort level.
