Look at the ones I have checked first. Ask any questions I can help with. Also HighVelocity is the holster EXPERT & ENCYCLOPEDIA on the board. He will help you too.
Flintknapper is another long time carry that knows holsters.
Charles Cotton is too. He is really busy sometimes & not on the board every day.
From there check out all you want to look at. Some are made to sell & are not too good for wear. All the stuff I checked is quality leather or kydex. From there, what you like is going to be the key.
One of the things I remind folks that buy conceal carry holsters is the old saying: You get what you pay for." This is double true w/ holsters. There is a huge difference in the quality & comfort of $25.00 holsters & $75.00 holsters. Top quality leather holsters will cost close to or a little more than $100.00 new & there will be a 6-12 week wait. They stay that far behind. Kydex lead time is shorter.
You can watch some of the boards for sale items & get them cheaper.
You have to be willing to wait for what you want & it may take a WHILE.
I have bought only 3 new holsters in my 8 yrs of carry.
If I can help holler.

I prefer blade tech and Comp-tac for Kydex. Comp-tac infidel is what I am currently wearing about 90% of the time.

Milt Sparks for leather. There are some really good ones out there...I had to buy a few before I found what I liked.

FWIW, the customer service with Comp-tac is second to none and will allow you to return a holster that does not work for you. All you lose is shipping.

Noone even razzed Carlson about his clip-draw!

I actually think they're pretty neat. Tried one for awhile on my Kimber. Comfy, but not for me. Probably not all that safe either.

They are all being nice! I do not like the clip draw on my 1911's. I have no problem on my Glock. As for as safe I do not see a problem. The trigger is completely covered by belt and pants, thus just like a holster.

The Comp-tac site has a couple of appealing options. I am not sure about Kydex however. I am hesitant to put a $1000 + pistol in something that might wear off the finish faster. My ideas are based on ZERO experience and could be all wrong. Anyone have an opinion based on real world experience with Kydex?

The 30 day trial period seems hard to beat.

To be sure the kydex will give you more holster wear.
I use the Infadel w/ Gurkha set up for my IWB carry. I have a Kimber Pro in it. There are some guys that want their carry weapon to look like safe queens after 10 yr of daily carry. That wont happen. I think I have a picture of mine & will edit this w/ the pic to let you see.

Image

You can see at the muzzle end of the frame the shine of the kydex. Another small spot under the slide lock & around the thumb safety. I have carried this gun now for about 2 yrs. ??????????
We had a discussion some time ago about "character marks". There is a matching set of these marks on the other side too.
What ever you carry, if it is every day, you will get some wear.
This is personal I know, My carry is for protection & personal defense. I dont abuse any gun I have but I dont have any safe queens. If I own it, I shoot it & probably carry it pretty regular.

I was looking at the same setup online. trying to decide between the slider and the std setup. It's hard to pass on their 30 day guarantee. Not that I plan to send it back, but it sure is some added peace of mind.

That is just something that I am going to have to get used to. In the past (in another state) I carried only in my car and into the office which resulted in no noticeable wear. I am a little AR (OK maybe a lot) and meticulous in the way I keep my belongings. I'll soon get over that in regard to my carry weapons.

I just ordered an Andrews, MacDaniel II IWB. I have not received it yet but will give my 2 cents worth as soon as I try it out.
