Yep....especially during the lame duck session!
I'm really surprised they didn't ban everything when they had the chance to bury it all in between the lines of the Affordable Care Act!
SCAREY how our Government works......(Read: doesn't work).

That's one reason I've ordered quite a few things in the last 2 days which I'd have waited to order.
And I ordered from a place which "rounds up" to the nearest dollar and donates the round-up to the NRA... besides, they had the best prices

Yes, but you need 100 rounds to shoot 100 ducks. :-)
By reducing the amount of times you need to reload, aren't we improving American productivity per duck shot? :-)

By George ... he's wrong
Jason Alexander, the actor famous for playing
George on “Seinfeld,” posted a long argument for a ban on assault-style weapons on Twitter Sunday:

So the patriots are correct, gun ownership is in the constitution – if you’re in a well-regulated militia.

A bit of real documented history instead of opinion of what they meant RE: "well regulated Militia"

He's living the role of the stupid idiot he played on Seinfeld.
He obviously is unaware that the SCOTUS has put this argument to bed long ago.

Boy - If I had a time machine, I'd go back to the Second Amendment writers and have
them rephrase the 2A much more clearly to state that it is an indidvidual's right.
Strike out all that "militia" part that anti's hang their hat on when they think American citizens should not keep and bear arms.
Sheesh. Rant off.

I had been procrastinating about joining the NRA. It just kept getting pushed down the “to do” list. With all this going on, it just rose to the top. I just got my thank you email..”Thank you for joining the NRA….”
I realize it’s a small step, but the journey has begun.

Shotguns really give me some trouble.

It's time we stopped being such an easy and soft target!
We need to take the offensive and start introducing gun friendly bills and get rid of a lot they have already done!
If the reps for the gun friendly States cannot get this done, fire them and put someone in there that will represent our interests in a positive and active way rather than a reactionary way. John Cornyn comes to mind as one (of many) that is just taking up space.

No, "these people" won't consider even the most reasonable-appearing control or compromise any longer - here's why:
Even though we're not the problem, we gunnies have given things away in the name of compromise time and again (all one-sided, of course - when's your side going to step up to the plate?) - and each time we've been sold a pig in a poke. Witness the so-called 1986 Firearms Owners Protection Act - meant to curtail regulatory abuse on FFLs by the ATF and promoted by pro-gun groups, suddenly it magically closed the machine-gun registry.
Way to go, guys - find me a case where a single legal machine-gun has been used in a crime since 1934. All this law did was remove objects from the law-abiding and sky-rocket a $600 item to $16,000. Jolly well done - you
idiots.
If your side had played open and honest cards from the start, you
could have gotten our cooperation in trying to help (despite the fact that you're chasing unicorns) - but you've proven over and over that you don't negotiate in good faith. We're tired of getting the shaft, and now you're surprised that we don't want to play along any longer?
Get it through your thick skull, dummy:
We - Don't - Trust You.
They fudge the math too. There is no way on God's green earth that 100,000 Americans are dying by gun violence every year—not even if you count the drug dealers and gang-bangers.
Hardly a "pro-gun" source:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violen ... #Homicides
Prevalence of homicide and violent crime is greatest in urban areas of the United States. In metropolitan areas, the homicide rate in 2005 was 6.1 per 100,000 compared with 3.5 in non-metropolitan counties.[27] In U.S. cities with populations greater than 250,000, the mean homicide rate was 12.1 per 100,000.[28] According to FBI statistics, the highest per capita rates of gun-related homicides in 2005 were in D.C. (35.4/100,000), Puerto Rico (19.6/100,000), Louisiana (9.9/100,000), & Maryland (9.9/100,000) .[29] The Bureau of Justice statistics from 2004 do not include D.C or Puerto Rico. see "Gun violence in the United States by state". Wikipedia. 2004.
If we assume that those numbers are correct (they probably aren't) if you use the
highest murder rate ever in the nation—35.4/100,000 in D.C. (ironically) in 2005—we are a nation of some 310 million people. That's 3,100 times 100,000. 3100x35.4=109,740. That's what it takes to get to a figure of 100,000
homicides. But those numbers also include homicide by knife, baseball bat, poison, drunk driving, child battery, etc., etc., etc. Even Wikipedia isn't so intellectually bankrupt to suggest that these are all gun deaths....although the next paragraph seems to imply it.
Bottom line, when a democrat/liberal/gun-grabber gives you numbers, he's lying because his lips are moving.
If you bring up
facts, be prepared to be called a
RACIST!!!.

I read that mans tweet, and it made my brain hurt. All you guys did great coming up with all the facts and numbers. I am still trying to get past that part where my AR is so much more deadly than the rifles I use for hunting. Lets see, as I look in the gun safe, I have the 25-06 I use for whitetail and antelope, the 7mm mag for mule deer and elk, and the trusty 338 for the future bear hunt.
Actual knowledge of what he is talking about does not seem to be required. So rather than try and figure out the rest of his little rant, I am just going to disqualify him on the bases of his own ignorance.
Now my brain feels much better.

When Democrats like Obama, Lautenberg, Feinstein, etc. talk about how much they respect the 2nd Amendment, and then just can't seem to keep from going after more gun control anyway, it simply reminds me of the old "
The Frog and the Scorpion" story.
It is as old as human nature, with a version of that story going back to Aesop's Fables called "
The Farmer and the Viper". "It has the moral that kindness to the evil will be met by betrayal and is the source of the idiom 'to nourish a viper in one's bosom'." Alternatively, "you knew I was a scorpion; it is in my nature".
