If I had an unlimited budget I probably still would have gone with my berg 500. Simple and flawless. I bought mine with the 28" ribbed/vented barrel at Walmart for under $200 then ordered the 18.5" barrel from berg for $90 shipped. Two guns in one for under $300.

Just about everything I wanted for $1000 less than an Benelli M4. Be nice if I could reduce the Length of pull. Maybe in the future

For home defense the Mossberg or Remington pumps are a reliable and inexpensive way to go. I also went with Mossberg because of the safety location. I enjoy reading everybodys thoughts and what they like, guss I am a bit simplistic on my requirements, it must go bang everytime and I have no problems with a pump action. I am into mine for about $500 total and it will always do what I need it to do.

Remington 870 or Mossberg 500/Maverick 88.
Best shotguns for the money.

12 ga Mossberg 500 JIC Cruiser (added ATI Talon Butt Stock)... lays under my bed (in appropriate case) ready for HD duty.
