I have got a question for all: What if a New Yorker waited until after the ban, makes him a criminal right? Escapes, by driving, from New York and comes to Texas with his banned firearms/magazines? Would Texas be obligated to arrest this person? He did break the law in New York and drove here through states where it is, or will be illegal to own an AR. I don't know all the laws, but as he was traveling, isn't he in fact a Felon with a weapon, crossing state lines and etc?

Good question, I dunno :headscratch
My non-serious answer:

Seems to me like .... those who cross the border and make it get a free pass ... just an observation. That's how Liberals are making the laws it seems. Might get free college or whatever too if things keep going the way they are. Problem is still that "selective enforcement" might be an issue, Martin Luther King had problems with that too, trying to get a carry license ...

No, it makes him a scofflaw. He's not a criminal until caught and convicted of a crime.

First of all, you're not a felon unless you've been convicted. Secondly, unless he was caught and charged with a crime somewhere along the way, there would be nothing to extradite him for. In Texas it's perfectly legal to own the firearms that New York has declared illegal.

Legal action against Cuomo gun law

NYSRPA, in co-operation with the NRA, are having the Cuomo law reviewed by a highly qualified legal team. We ask that no other 3rd party legal action be taken without prior consultation. We realize that this law impacts a large number of people, but a proper legal review will take some time. NYSRPA/NRA will be filing a Notice of Claim prior to submitting a brief on the merits of the constitutionality of the new gun law. Involved in the lawsuit will be two of the nations best 2nd Amendment attorneys. This is a very important proceeding and must be handled properly with the best lawyers. We will not win without support from gun owners. You can help either by joining/renewing your membership or making a online donation.
Please do not call or e-mail the office or directors asking for more information. Any announcements on this issue will be published here on our website. Thank you for your understanding.

And there are massive numbers of gun owners in NY State who are giving consideration to boycotting Andy's Law.
