What was the first-year price of the M1991A's? (real world selling price, not MSRP or did they sell for MSRP?)

I'm not sure of whether Big 5 list price was msrp, but I believe it would be close,
The 3 inch: COMPACT MODEL rm on rt. flat, 3 5/8 inch barrel, 6 + 1 capacity, $399.96
The 5 inch: -SERIES 80- rm on rt. flat, 5 inch barrel, 7 + 1 capacity, $449.96

When I pulled the receipts from my file for the 1991A1 pistols, a receipt for another purchase I made at the same time fluttered to the bottom of the cabinet. I didn't notice it until this morning,
bx WIN .45 230gr 50 ct, 15 @ 7.99 119.85, bx WIN .45 BLTLN 50 ct, 10 @ 10.96 109.60 subtotal 229.45 sales tax 15.49 total $244.94.
Yes, the infamous "Spinning Blades of Death" as described by the now Senior Senator from New York, were less than $.22 per round.

Beautiful gun! I really like the finish. Did Colt do the finish or have you come up with a way to replicate it?
