Yes she does. She goes out shooting with me occasionally and the topic of her getting a CHL has come up more than once. She also knows that my Dad carries. My in-laws are also aware of the fact and have mentioned that they are glad I do "so I can take care of their little girl and their grandkids." All are very discreet about the topic and know that it is not to be discussed with others. They are very private about many things, including my CHL status.

Yep. And, since she just had surgery last week, she's talking about getting her own pistol and CHL to carry after she drops a significant amount of weight.

My mother never entered the field without her trusty 50s vintage Single Six. Her family lost a well loved dog to a rattler when out to shoot some "Chinese Birds" when she was in her early teens. She'd be disappointed if I didn't avail myself of the opportunity to protect me and mine from the snakes, with legs and without, that we share the planet with.

My dear mom has passed but I know she would approve. She and her own mom were of the pioneer spirit and you did not mess with them if you had evil intent. Otherwise they were the gentlest of women. My step mom knows I carry. Whenever I go to visit, she hugs me and pats my side where my EDC is and smiles at me. I love my family. :thumbs2:

Yep. Mom and Dad both know. I'm not sure they approve per se, but they recognize that it's my right, and that it's not exactly the worst idea in the world. Dad's been this close to getting a revolver for as long as I can remember, but he can never quite bring himself to get it.

My mom died in 2011. She used to live with us before we had to place her in a care facility so she knew but never said anything about it.

Mom and Dad know. They live in Kansas, where OC, is legal. I open carry everywhere on their property.

The in-laws, still in Texas, know and are in favor of it. They always ask how I did at my last IDPA match.

My mom passed a few years ago but she took her class with me and carried everywhere she could. Not too sure she didn't take it with her.

Yes, she does. She is not a gun person and doesn't particularly care for them but she does have enough sense to realize they aren't evil and that the world is not a safe place. She has never critisized or questioned me or my brother carrying. I also have other family and a few friends that know I carry. I don't broadcast the fact and a little discretion is a good idea but it isn't a dirty little secret either.

I'm curious as to why having one's CHL and possibly carrying a firearm has to be some deep, dark secret? How does that same thought process exist with those that insist on open carry? Doesn't the attitude of "secret society" or "elitist group" tend to reduce the number of folks that need to be educated and brought into the fold? Having the ability to defend one's self, loved ones and property is a good thing, something we (collectively) would like to see expanded to greater numbers ..... right?
