a friend of mine also received this, it is legit, but my friend ignored it and was sent several reminder cards within a few weeks. ignored them too.
the 10 year census is the only required one to my knowledge.

Since when is it constitutional for the Feds to interfere with local decisions like fire stations and hospitals?

Since they decided that they wanted to do it. The Feds are not bound by the Constitution.

I had a friend who was a training supervisor for the Census workers so it was hard for us but we stuck to the "there are 2 people living in this house" line. A woman whose native language is not English showed up and threatened us with several different things. My response was always "go ahead." She told me that because I wasn't cooperating with her, that my Census number wouldn't be counted. When I responded "then you are breaking the law by not following the Constitution and counting all citizens", she crawled into her car and left. We never heard any more.

I've done some genealogy research and have looked at the line items in many previous Census results. Names and addresses were often provided. They knew my name and address or they won't have known to whom to send the Census form. They also have a GPS fix on my house because I opened my door one day to find a Census worker taking a GPS fix on my front porch. With that information, they didn't need anything else from me.

I'd say, .... "what survey?"
Yeppers. If it's legit and they really need your answers, they'll send somebody around. Personally, I'd just file it in the usual place reserved for junk mail.

A full census (the every decade one); they'd send their little 'Obama for America' trolls around. Being a random sampling, I'd tear it up. Think about it. 1. It's selected you at random. 2. Not everyone gets it. If the answers are sooo important, they'd send it to everybody. Otherwise, they are just wasting your time. If you toss it, and they send a crew out, at least they'll suffer the wasted time with you.

I am a sadistic bastard though.

Nice. I'll pass this on to my "friend" who got this.
