Me, too! Well, raised in the hill country, I guess.
If I remember right, and it was a loooong time ago, in 7th grade Texas geography, Oklahoma was a county in northern Texas. Something like that.

My family moved here running from the law. This was Mexico at the time so it was several generations back.

Better than Memphis BBQ, for sure...but our East Tennessee BBQ is still pretty good. I like a good mesquite smoking, but I was weaned from the bottle with a hickory smoked rib.

Nah, where I grew up in East Tennessee, we considered anything left of Knoxville to be 'East Arkansas'.
All kidding aside - we love it here in Texas,

but have very fond memories of Tennessee
(Sorry I couldn't make the 'linked' TN smiley the same size as the TX one - that was a function of what I could find on the web, not an indication of anything else.)

Born and raised in upstate NY. Most think of a busy city when they think of NY, but most of NY is actually pretty country. There were a lot of rednecks in the area that I grew up in. Moved here a few years ago and don't plan on leaving. However, moving out of the busy DFW area and into a less populated area of Texas is our goal for the near future.
I was born in NY, but I assure you I am a Texan.
