My sister remembered him from when we shot there a few times, he said that he has absolutely no connection with the people who sold great southwest any longer and said it was old news to him.
With the commission he made from just their house I could see how one would want to transition

not saying he wasn't good because they said he was the best real estate guy they had ever met with, just as friendly and personable as he always came off to be at the range.
But I though Great Southwest was a family affair? I could be totally off the mark.
You are correct; it was a family-run range. But that doesn't always work out. Paul was the center of the friendly service that people reported there, but he left for personal reasons similar to mine.

My wife and I made a visit tonight.
It is a very nice range and very clean. It is small and they are just getting up running according to Scott, the Assistant Manager.
The gave me a LEO discount all though that is behind me now and I don't work.
There was a young man there by the name of Jake. He helped me out on dialing in a laser on my AR.
We will be returning. The plus size it is close to my house and not expensive.

Well, my "Patriot" membership ($260/yr) lowers my range fee to $2 Mon-Fri or $3 on the weekends. Plus discounts on merchandise and firearms (if I buy from the range).

Been going to Great Southwest Range since July, and been looking into Shoot Smart. 2 weeks ago found out Shoot Smart took over Great Southwest, so went out to Shoot Smart today to check it out. The concept of what's to come at Great Southwest is pretty cool. It will give Great Southwest a modern look. Only down side is will now have to use suites for rifles. But no problem adjusting to that.
But got 2 friends interested and excited bout guns, and curious about CHL, so 2 hours at the range with our little group was a success in making 2 new gun owner to be hahaha

Are they done renovating and back open for business again?
Planned on meeting a buddy there in the morning. If not we'll go to Eagle, which is just fine by me.

I have shot there twice. The last time was about two weeks ago. They are open and operating.

I went by there Friday. It was under 15.00 for two people on one lane with four targets. Not bad!
Staff was friendly and polite.
It's still the same as it was the last time they were there when they was Great Southwest.
Lanes seemed a little tight and lighting could have been better.
Still a far cry from the other facility in NW Ft. Worth but I'm sure they'll get there. There was some construction going on when we stopped in.
I just think Eagle has ruined my perception of what a range should be. lol
Overall it was a pleasant experience and I wouldn't hesitate to stop in there again sometime.

Was at shoot smart last night and it looks completely different than great southwest used to look. The lounge has furniture in it now and the private sweets will be open on saturday. The floors are carpeted and the registers are moved to the corner and they will be offering classes in the middle of this month. Needless to say im pretty excited to see whats to come.
