I looked for a M&P Armorer and I seen Euless guns has one on sight. I called them and the lady said they still do not know what is wrong with them. She said I would have to bring the Shield to them and S&W would send a pick up order to them. She said that S&W would not send a pick up notice to anyone other than a FFL.
If someone figures out something easier to do please post it.
Following there video my pistol appears to be just fine.

When I had to send my M&P back they sent me the shipping label. I would talk to M&P direct, sounds like maybe the FFL wants a fee.

FYI: Most folks are NOT affected. I have two Shields at home and neither had the problem. What's interesting is that S&W already sent me two shipping labels for these Shields, just in case. Awesome customer service!

I bought my Shield used. I really do not believe mine is affected so I am not going to worry about calling S&W. The video is a pretty simple explanation.
OldCannon I wished you were closer so you could just give me a second opinion about my Shield.

S&W has detail instructions and a video on their website on how to inspect your Shield.

Just checked mine and it does not have the problem. The video is very clear on how to check which makes it easy. Wonder how many of these got past them?

Mine is good to go thankfully. I better buy one in .40 just to make sure though.

My Shield has the problem condition. I called the number this morning for instructions on how to get it fixed. Lady I talked to asked me 2 or 3 times if I was sure my gun had the problem. She said S&W hasn't decided yet how they were going to handle the fix. She took my info and said someone would call me back.

I picked up my Shield last night. It does not exhibit the problem, but man was it stiff. I could not for the life of me lock that slide back. It has to slide a loooong way back to lock. Tonight I'll clean it & range time tomorrow.

Guess I'm not as impressed with the customer service as Old Cannon. My shield does not appear to have this condition, but I contacted S & W because both paint dots appear to have fallen out of the rear sight (after about 2 months and less than 1000 rounds). They indicated they would send me a return label within 3 or 4 days so I could return the pistol and let them determine if it was warrenty. If so it would would be fixed with a 6 to 8 week turnaround. I know they must be busy with this other issue, but after waiting 6 months to get the shield, have it 2 months, and then be without it 1 to 2 more months - I doubt it. By the way, I like the shield in every other way - as of now.
