Here's one for you........

When I got my First CHL, I saw on the website that it was mailed/issued (or whatever) and waited almost a week with no license arriving.

Called them and they said to just wait a bit longer (typical). Waited almost another week and no license.

Called again and they owned up to what had happened..........
My License was placed in an envelope with another person's license (mine behind his) and this person received two licenses (one being mine). DPS had to wait for the guy to send mine back to them and then send it correctly to me! They assured me it was in the mail to me at that time. I received it 2 days later.

Lucky for me the guy sent it back to them!

I've received things like bills with my bill and someone else's. I wonder how many times I didn't get things because of that.

could you imagine if you had carried it and gotten into a situation where you needed to show it to an officer?

Has anyone been pulled over after the status was flipped to "certificate active -license issued" before they had their plastic and the officer noticed it on his screen? Would be curious as to their reaction if you didnt have the license...even with no piece in the vehicle.

I never heard of it happening. It' s a pretty narrow time window.

In the early years of CHL, some people reported that they didn't show their CHL when they weren't carrying, and got a sharp reaction from a cop.

However, you have to take these Internet tales with a grain of salt. We don't know all the circumstances.

I think the police are much more comfortable with CHL now than they were 10 years ago.

yeah I have heard of police asking if the person was carrying when pulled over because they had seen the chl in their data...the person wasnt and the policeman went about the normal routine
