Sounds like the owner did the right thing, IMHO. I seriously doubt any of the "regulars" on this forum would act in such a manner.

Business owner/manager has a moral obligation to protect his customer's safety. If he felt the guys gun handling/concealment/chl claim was shady, he did the right thing by calling the cops.

Although I agree with what the OP did and the owner calling LEO, I have, as discussed in another post, I have cleaned my glasses (not a good idea while carrying) with my shirt and pulled up over my weapon without realizing it. When confronted (by my grand daughter in this case) I immediately covered it up without hesitation.
However, his first refusal to cover it up when confronted, and his buddy making the comment about him having a CHL, would create a large realm of suspicion for me as well.
