Just to clarify... it' not "illegally" posted. There's no law against posting it by them, but it IS "unenforceable" by law.
30.06 signs on city property are perfectly "legal" in the sense that the city posting them is breaking no law, but if they arrest or prosecute based on them, they *should* be found unenforceable.
It's semantics, I know, but it is in the legal sense a totally different meaning.

In Victoria you can carry into the VPD in the public area, but you can't carry into the sheriff's office because the jail is there.
