OP - I hope your alright. My company has many warehouses and something to think about because I know it's going to come up if it already hasn't is if you were up that high did you have a harness on? It sounds like you didn't and if that is the case I'm sure Fed Ex has a company policy saying you should be wearing it. People at our company that violate this policy and get hurt usually end up having to find another job. I hope you aren't one of those people.
Best wishes for your quick recovery.

Glad to read you went to the hospital. May you have a full and speedy recovery -- and we'll be praying for you. Unfortunately, as TAM pointed out, this may mean a lifetime of extra diligence to protect your back.

Prayers for you AJ. I spent 28 years as a telephone man, 20 of them climbing poles, and have fallen more than a couple of times, it's all part of the job. A few years ago getting ready for knee replacement surgery I had to have back x-rays, and the radiologist asked me when I had broken my back. ??? I never knew I had. I probably fell and then got back up and continued to work.
Keep after the MDs and Workman's Comp and don't let the company freeze you out.

Praying for you Allan. For your immediate recovery, long term health and the strength in dealing with any potential insurance and liability issues with the company. God bless.

Thanks everyone. I'm still in the hospital. They are just trying to keep the pain under control until I get a back brace. Once I get it, they will observe me in it and see if the broken vertabre moves. I it does, I'm going to have to have surgery. I still appreciate your prayers.
God Bless,
Allan

Today I had to take a couple more X-rays while standing up. It hurt pretty bad. The doctor decided the bast course of action is to go in and put rods and screws along the broken vertabre. I'm doing ok. I'm a little nervous, but I'm not really worried. I'd ask for y'all to include my girlfriend and family in your prayers as well. My girlfriend isn't taking it well. She spent the better part of the afternoon crying after we found out I'm gonna have to have surgery.
Thanks y'all,
Allan

My brother-in-law fell from a church roof a few years ago and shattered his L1 & L2 vertebra. He had to have the similar surgery to put rods on both sides and screws in. You will definitely be sore for awhile, but should have much less pain than what you have now when standing. He had to use a walker for a few days after surgery, a back brace for awhile and had about 3 months of recovery, but overall he is back as good as new. He was also twice your age, so if you are in good health otherwise you should recover MUCH faster than he did.
