This pack is well designed and I highly recommend. Also heard good things about Pistol Wear.

However, I personally find such packs better for hiking/walking and too bulky for jogging. I just haven't found a worthwhile way to carry a G29-size gun while jogging.

can squeeze in a small LCP-size .380 or J-frame size 5-shot snub revolver. The draw is not fast (better with two hands and practice) but it works much better for me for jogging.

I run allot, including weekly long runs in the 2-2.5 hour range currently. I prefer to carry and wear as little as possible which makes a fanny pack of any type pretty much unbearable. I have had ok luck with a bellyband and my small Ruger LCP, my cell phone and CHL in one of the pockets. I am lean and my "medium" Bellyband holster is a bit too large but some extra velcro and a safety pin solved that. It is reasonably comfortable, so far in cold to warm conditions but I have my doubts about it for weather in the 90's+
It is wide which adds to it's stability and could presumable carry a larger gun but I wouldn't want to run with my Glock or anything bigger than a pocket pistol. The wide fabric on me, 5'10 172 lbs covers alot of flesh and interferes a little with my HR strap but for runs in the ten mile or less range it has been ok.
For casual runners or "joggers" the fanny pack is probably suitable, there is no easy solution for running/cycling outside in the Summer and of course my swim training leaves me disarmed and in a state of sensory deprivation, sometimes you make compromises and do the best you can.
I have what is commonly called a "Bento Box" on the top tube of my road and triathlon bikes that can hold the same small pistol and a couple of cliff bars on my bike but it is off body carry not optimal. Carrying it in a jersey pocket it will get sweaty plus the weight tugs the jersey around awkwardly and leaves a pretty clear pistol outline on the fabric, as you can imagine there is no room in cycling shorts for any weapons other than what I was born with.

Going smaller would open a lot of options for you. I run in either cargo shorts or boxer style swimsuit with a drawstring/elastic waistband (and a nice airy mesh inner liner ) and if I decide to carry, I carry a LCR in a Remora holster with the sweatshield option. This works pretty well. There's a little movement (easily reset) after a couple of miles with the drawstring shorts and none with the cargo short. I also tried with a full size PX4/Remora and it was ok but the weight was a bit much.

12 oz (more when not empty) snubby in a pocket holster. Speed loader. Been doing it for 13 years now.

Sig p238 in a belly band works for me.

We live in Spring, Texas and walk, jog almost everyday. I have been using Thunderwear for years for my G-26, has pocket for spare mag and/or cell phone, etc. Easy to wash and durable. Just need a larger pair of shorts that are on the loose side and your good to go.
I have also carried in the Glock Sports holster OWB wearing shorts with belt loops and T-shirt over it all - this works good also. When jogging I prefer the Kydex holsters due to soaking my leather ones......

My wife also uses Thunderwear for her S&W revolver - but lately she has been carrying her G-26 most of the time.

I go to the gym now, but when I ran regularly outdoors, I just carried a can of fox labs pepper spray in the hand. I don't even like to carry my phone when I run.

I've run 15 or 16 marathons, and a similar number of half marathons, and usually carry a S&W 442 in the pocket of my shorts on my training runs. On the long runs (over 20 miles), the revolver bouncing around tends to make my leg a little bit tender, so anything that would hold it stationary would be great. I don't really know of a solution to keep sweat from getting on a gun, though. I'll probably have to have my revolver refinished before too long because sweat is starting to cause some rust on the cylinder.

I received mine yesterday and it's very nice; my Sig P938 fits in the Small's pouch perfectly. It does not, of course, have any internal trigger protection for the Sig, which I want to carry cocked & locked.

I wonder: should I get a pocket holster for the Sig, with a trigger guard, and stick THAT into the gun pack? Obviously I need to practice with this thing but wonder what others might think about this...

Can you situate it such that the pocket holster stays in the bag when you draw, or to put it another way, if you draw the pistol can you draw it clear of both the bag and the holster at the same time? If so I would recommend that, just for safety. If not:

How thick are the "walls" of the holding area? The advantage of a DA/SA is that the DA is often quite heavy, providing a strong safety factor in this instance, and if the containing area is pretty stiff it should be allright. My wife has a Beretta Storm hand cannon in a special purse. It is soft and has a built in softer holster, but is constructed stiffly enough that, with a DA I'd feel perfectly safe carrying with one in the barrel but decocked. Does that style sig also have a safety or is a SA only with a safety? If its a concern (or its SA only) and you have a safety use that as well BUT PRACTICE TAKING THAT SAFETY OFF A LOT AS IN EVERY TIME YOU SHOOT A STRING IN PRACTICE so that muscle memory is complete.

As noted in another thread, if there is concern wear it empty but in DA mode for a week or two and bang the gun pack around a good bit. That should help convince if its safe or not.

EDIT: I was able to open the pic finally of where the holster area is. Again, if you can put a pocket holster in there and draw clear of both cool, if not try for two weeks without it it appears stiff or with good padding. A good DA/SA pistol should be just fine in that setup.

Thanks a lot for your careful comments. I did think that if I put a trigger-protecting holster inside the tommygunspack that I would have to sew it in, or velcro it. I'm going to carry it around here for a few weeks as you said and draw it unloaded on imaginary rattlesnakes...

Pistolwear! If you want ultimate deep concealment this is the best choice!

I got the 5.11 and ran with it today. The G29 was a snug fit, which is good, but it actually worked pretty well even with such a big gun. Just have to cinch it up it up tight. The straps are wide so they don't cut in to your sides. Seems to be a well thought out design.
