A boy stepped off the curb directly into the path of an on coming pick up truck. The boy was struck and injured. The pickup truck driver stopped and attempted to render aid, as I assume the law in Michigan requires and as any decent person would do. An angry mob almost beat him to death, he is in critical condition.
Police ruled that driver was not in the wrong and did not have enough time to stop to avoid hitting the boy.
The driver was from the suburbs.
You kind of wonder why Detroit just doesn't implode.
If a driver killed a boy on my street I'm pretty sure the exact same thing would happen. Thats not Detroit. thats human nature.
Then you should move. The kid stepped in front of the driver. It was in no way the drivers fault.

If I'm ever unfortunate enough to be in Cedar Park, I'll remember not to stop for
any reason.

More to the story. Man would have been beaten to death if not for this pistol packing African American Nurse.
Man is still in a medically induced coma in critical condition. There have been three arrests.
Somewhere I read this may have been a game to get the driver to stop.

The boy wasn't killed. It wasn't the driver's fault according to the chief. No it is not human nature to mob up and beat someone like that over an accident.
Judging by the multiple instances of this having occurred over the years, I'd disagree on that.

Wow, what kind of street do you live on....I want to make sure I don't wander into your neighborhood by accident. This wouldn't have happened on any street that I've ever lived on.

When I lived in LA there were several incidents like this.
On my actual street now - thinking about my neighbors -yea if you ran over one of their kids you'd better start running fast.

8 year old boy in Houston killed on bike by driver speeding and possibly intoxicated. Driver stopped to render aid and was not beaten to death.

Curious on what street you live within Cedar Park (I assume from your name). I know that burb well and disagree 100% with your prediction of what would happen given similar circumstances.
