The Marshal wrote:Go to Google
Type in "Ruger 1911"
Then click the Shopping tab.
All you get is Holsters and grips.
They used to show you everyone that sold the Ruger 1911 and pricing.
Dumped them. I use Bing now.
The initial statement was Google - not Google shopping
Googles shopping link works poorly for everything
Its not a search engine as much as a pay for play store ...
and they clearly disclose it
From google shopping pages
"Google is compensated by these merchants. Payment is one of several factors used to rank these results."
From adwords
'What's the policy?
Google AdWords doesn't allow the promotion of weapons or devices designed to cause serious harm or injury. The promotion of weapons includes guns, gun parts or hardware, ammunition, bombs, knives, throwing stars, and brass knuckles.
We've created this policy to comply with legal regulations.."
from Forbes
"Google’s new, anti-gun policy, assigns a “family status” to all products. Products that are “non-family safe” are blocked from Google Shopping. This includes guns, ammunition and knives, as well as vehicles, tobacco and radar scramblers."
Again Google shopping isnt a comprehensive search in ANY category, family friendly or not, its a series of ads from Paid Advertisers - Therefore it has little use to me.
You can do the SAME search in Google Web Search and get the results you want.
Try "Buy Ruger 1911" or "sold Ruger 1911" in the web search and you get unfiltered results
Google is a VERY powerful tool and they teach you how to use it in ways you would never think of
here are some videos that explain how to get great results fast

What exactly is the tool bar doing to my OS if it takes 10 min to remove ? What crap are they tracking or phoning home with ?
