I was wondering when this and the usual Taurus hate would arrive here

I'll admit that it does seem gimmicky but they're trying something new and I'll give them credit for that. I'd be interested in checking it out simply because it's odd. The lack of sights is funky but I sort of understand that decision since most shootings happen at relatively close range. I'd still prefer sights even if they're reminiscent of the Bersa Thunder CC.

Also from what I saw this one is made in the USA and the stuff they make in the USA generally has a better reputation than the imported guns. Again I'd be willing to check it out because it's weird.

The laser sight and white lights are nice, though it would be important to be able to control them on and off due to light discipline. Also if your battery runs out, you have no sights, just point and shoot.. The other issue I have with it is that while it has a holster sort of built in if you only use the clip, you still have the trigger exposed.
I have not made any judgement for myself, just making observations. And yes.. 9mm would have been better.

Well, I want one because I like unique designs. Yes, I realize that essentially all they've done is kinda half-melt a "normal" pistol, but it's still something I've never seen before. Now, I don't want one enough to actually buy one, but that's at least partly due to me deciding to be an unemployed college student again.

I still consider it a gimmick, same as their View and don't care for .380. YMMV

Yeah, the Remington R51 got terrific reviews at first. Then it was recalled last July. It never resurfaced and is still nowhere to be found.

Both the Ruger SR9 and the S&W M&P also experienced recalls shortly after the brand new design hit the market.

If I was ever interested in this new Taurus (which I will not be), I still will not purchase a new design until it is a couple of years old and has the bugs shaken out.

I have one Taurus 9mm that I keep in a glove compartment and don't care if it gets stolen. That's the only gun I can say that about. Magazines are hard to get. Functions most of the time. Was inexpensive to purchase used and is a "cheap" gun. Made in Brazil. The Curve looks "interesting". The manual is not available on their website yet. It is made in the USA. Trigger pull said to be 5 1/2# which beats my S&W .380 Bodyguard. Probably take years to get extra mags. Time will tell on this but I would not rush out to be the first in line. Even the Glock 42 had some major teething problems. Yes, even the Glock did. I already have two .380 models now. Won't buy another.

I went back and looked and they include a holster that covers the trigger area and is designed to be pulled off when drawn. Good point with the batteries! It would suck to have it die on you in the time of need although I always check my flashlights and stuff before carrying them.

9mm defense loads aren't pleasant to shoot from tiny guns in my experience so .380 in THIS gun doesn't turn me off.

It took me over a year to find a Sig Sauer brand P238 magazine in stock. I do wish that more companies would include extra magazines even if they upped the price. Definitely wouldn't want to be the first in line for one (P238 had a ton of issues early on too).

I've got two Taurus guns in the collection though and as a result I wouldn't mind taking a harder look at this thing.

To me it sounds like something to sell way more than something to use.

The Taurus "View" has already bit the dust. I expect this won't be far behind. Instead of gimmickry they might try getting some magazines to market for their already produced pistols that have a life.

Guns&Ammo, Jan 2015 just reviewed it. Comes with spare magazine (which is made in Brazil so they will probably be hard to find). Was an interesting review and I am not as negative as I was before, Time will tell.
