Compared to previous sessions, it seems to me that the content of the debate has botton more specific and more relevant, e.g., emphasizing that campus carry is a personal defensive measure. And defusing the student age issue, and other irrelevant, hypothetical anti-arguments that we've all heard many times in previous sessions.
There are definitely some irrelevant questions coming from some of the morons.

Agreed, but it sounds like the opposition has thought about it more and are raising more specific (if invalid) objections. Perhaps it is because they know they don't have the votes to stop it, at least in the Senate.
THen again, I thought Zafferini's bienniel rendering of the Charles Whitman story was ultimately beneficial to the cause of CHL/citizen defense.

The sheriff from Waco did an excellent job as a 'resource witness' testifying in support of campus carry. Good job sheriff!
Alice Tripp is is at the witness table, 4th up.

Priorities of anti-gun senators:
1. Don't allow people to have guns
2. If they have them, let me pretend they don't

Not a fan of this assistant police chief and his proposed amendment suggestion, but good job not taking Ellis' bait question.

Fun/Lying with statistics! He says 57 officers were killed last year when their own guns were turned on them. No mention of how many of these guns were actually stripped from their holster and then used on them.

The 16 hours extra training is simply a smoke-screen. Something somebody thought sounded good. Not even a mention of what would be covered, why it's necessary, etc.
The retention is a similar type issue (errr.... non-issue)

We can't have guns in our campus hospital... We have cancer there!
Nobody is bold enough to say, regardless of the buzzwords, no evidence or compelling argument has been brought forth to show why the medical center is any different from any other portion of the campus.

16 hours of extra training?? What's up with that?? 16 hours of teaching how to draw your gun using a high retention holster?
That's laughable.

The doctor is concerned about guns being around MRI equipment. Do they make people remove their watches at the front door of MD Anderson?
