Every customer there made a choice to disarm themselves (or not) as well as made a choice to purchase a ticket there.

Does that mean we still support property rights?

:iagree:
No one made these people these people disarm and go to this theater. It was a choice just as I have a choice to go to a theater that is not a gun free zone or not go at all and wait for the movie to come out on Netflix.

The Grand Theatres are private property. If you fail or refuse to follow this Code of Conduct, you will be asked to leave the theatre, and may be banned from all The Grand Theatres. If you fail or refuse to leave when requested to do so, you will be arrested and prosecuted for criminal trespassing.

OUR THEATRE PROHIBITS
• Outside food or drink
• Smoking including e-cigarettes
• Possession of firearms or weapons of any kind regardless of whether openly orconcealed, with or without a permit
• Disruptive or disorderly conduct
SNIP...
Company policy does not set law so unless there is a law there to make it illegal people can still carry.

We? I can't speak for anyone else, but I support the right of the property owner under current law to legally decide if they want firearms in their place of business.

In La any form of notification (gun buster sign, notice on ticket) makes carry illegal. I bet the farm there were gun buster signs at the entrance.
Texas laws are much more gun friendly than La.

2) Disarming the patrons and making them a sitting ducks
The patrons made the decision to be sitting ducks, nobody forced them them to see a movie at that particular movie house.

:iagree:
I don't rely on someone else for my safety. If I make the choice to leave myself defenseless that decision and the risks that come with it lie at my feet.

It appears that this theater was one of only a few theaters in the area that were gun free zones. All of the theaters banning guns appear to be owned by the same company. Not a stretch to assume that the shooter targeted a gun free zone.

The answer is simple, don't patronize the business.

However, I do feel that banning lawful concealed carry on the premises is reckless on the part of the theater.

Morally I agree, but it doesn't seem to meet legal requirements for such, unfortunately.

I do support the rights of the property owner just as I support my right to not go there unarmed. It would be the same there as here, you dont want me to be able to defend myself, then you dont want my money.
