The safest shooting ranges in the world are in Switzerland, and they always have bars. They don't even limit the consumption to afterwards, either... they have a long history of having a glass of wine before shooting. It's actually a great way to relax and calm the ol' nerves, which can really boost scores.matchstick wrote:I think it's probably a bad idea to have a bar at a gun club. Guns and alcohol do not mix.
You can always hide a flask of Knob Creek and have a sip before a shoot...KBCraig wrote:The safest shooting ranges in the world are in Switzerland, and they always have bars. Only if you're shooting at Knob Creek.govnor wrote:You can always hide a flask of Knob Creek and have a sip before a shoot...
I stand by my statement. Of course I also believe that alcohol and breathing doesn't mix. ;)KBCraig wrote:The safest shooting ranges in the world are in Switzerland, and they always have bars. That machine gun shoot looks like fun! I might have to make a trip out there this October...KBCraig wrote:Only if you're shooting at Knob Creek.govnor wrote:You can always hide a flask of Knob Creek and have a sip before a shoot...
Well then, that certainly puts into context anything you have to say about alcohol.matchstick wrote:I stand by my statement. I'd say that 500 years without an accident makes them pretty tough to beat, safety-wise.P.S. How do you KNOW the safest shooting ranges in the world are in Switzerland? Has someone done research on each country with shooting ranges and they were at the top of the list? It sounds like conjecture to me... it certainly could be true... but it seems like an unverifiable claim.
How do you think they've maintained 500 years of neutrality?Mac Truck wrote:I'd say 500 years of staying completely non-commital to any cause outside of neutrality would make me question why the Swiss have shooting ranges in the first place.
